Meningitis B is a commonly used term for the Group B meningococcus bacteria. Parents may assume that their child has been vaccinated against meningitis B, but it’s important to be sure. While there are vaccines that are routinely administered to school-age children in most Canadian jurisdictions, the vaccines for meningitis B are not amongst them.
